Name
The title of My Chemical Romance comes from when bassist, Mikey Way worked at a Barnes and Noble and came upon the book “Ecstasy: Three Tales of Chemical Romance” by Irvine Welsh, he thought that if you added ‘My’ in front of Chemical Romance it would sound like a cool band name. He shared the idea with his older brother, Gerard who was getting ready to start a band of his own. Mikey joined the then unnamed band (fronted by Gerard) as the bassist, and soon after Gerard asked Mikey if he could use the name for the band.
