I just found out about this today, and just wow. I cannot believe this has happened. Bob, I love you and know you are an amazing drummer, person, and friend. I wish you the best of luck in all of your future endeavors and you will be missed!
One chapter ends and another begins…

Hello Friends,
Recently it seems as though every time we write to you guys we have bad news, and we apologize for that, but we’ve learned in life you can’t have the sweet without the sour. As a band we have been very fortunate over the years that our sweet times have greatly outweighed the sour ones, and a great deal of that is owed to you, the fans. Which is why we wanted this news to come from us and not some bullshit gossip site.
As of 4 weeks ago, My Chemical Romance and Bob Bryar parted ways. This was a painful decision for all of us to make and was not taken lightly. We wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors and expect you all to do the same.
We also wanted to give you all a quick heads up on how the record is progressing. We have been writing some very powerful new songs so this week the four of us entered the studio once again, and what has been ending up on tape each night is some of the most exciting and honest work we have ever created.
We hope this letter finds you well, we miss you…
talk to you soon,
xo MCR

Some in-studio pics

Hey all! Hope everyone is good. Quick update on the happenings here in MCR land.
We’re almost done tracking the record, and then moving on to mixing. This process has been really different and enlightening. When we went to Tokyo for the Summersonic shows, we came back recharged and remotivated, wanting to better what we had done before we left. What resulted was us writing some of our best songs on the record. Lesson learned? Sometimes you have to step back to get to the real heart of things…
Photo-shoot today, and damn’t none of my old clothes fit! Either time to go shopping, or time to hit a gym. Neither are choices I like…
Mine and Christa’s dog Bauer, who I posted a picture of a few weeks ago, has been diagnosed with CRF – chronic renal failure – which is insane for a dog his age. He’s three, and very sick. Unfortunately, its something that you wouldn’t pick up on until its too late. We decided to bring him back home to Jersey where he can run in the grass and play, and luckily that seems to be making him feel better. The doctors out here are surprised at how well he looks considering the severity of his condition. He’s a tough little guy.
Putting some pictures up from in studio. Enjoy!

Day off…
posted by Ray on Jun 17, 2009 8:41am
After 5 (6?) great days at the studio, we got a day off today. Bob flew through the drum tracks, and we move on to guitars, bass and vocals Thursday. We have a few more songs to finish up, but Bob has tracked the songs where the arrangements are more set in stone first, so we can get moving on them and then return to the songs that are in a more unfinished state later this month.
I can’t say enough how happy I am with the band. The roughs sound UNBELIEVABLE, its crazy to me how much better and tighter as a band we’ve gotten. It makes me feel really good in the age of “digital performers” that we could go in and track live and still have it sound amazing…
What else is going on…Been having a great time with my Palm Pre. I know I was supposed to write a review, but honestly don’t have the time for it. I guess my quick review is that its an amazing device, with a few shortcomings. Small shortcomings mind you, I’ve been having a lot of fun on it and can’t wait to see what else the team at Palm have in store…
Oh and Ghostbusters came out! I played a little last night before bed, I kept getting slimed! Its a lot of fun busting ghosts, but damn’t Venkman why do you have to keep blasting me?! Kudos to everyone involved with this game, as it really plays out like a sequel to the films. Its still crazy to me that nearly the entire cast got together for a VIDEO GAME. Awesome stuff…

Track Day #3
posted by Ray on Jun 13, 2009 1:58pm
Day 3 of tracking. Things are still motoring along. Bob is playing great, so we’re continuing the fast pace. Great vibe here at the studio, Brendan is a lot of fun to work with, and is very focused and energetic. Rest of the band is playing great too. The time in rehearsals really paid off, as we’re getting a good idea of what songs will sound like when the rest of tracking is done. Off to enjoy a frosty Cola!
